In accordance with Education Code 48985.5, Esparto Unified is committed to informing students, families, and the community about the serious risks associated with synthetic drugs, specifically those not prescribed by a Physician, such as fentanyl and counterfeit pills.
Many counterfeit pills resemble what appears to look like prescription medication however may contain harmful substances, including lethal doses of Fentanyl. Synthetic drugs like fentanyl are extremely potent and dangerous, and a tiny amount can be deadly.
These counterfeit drugs are often sold through social media platforms, making them easily accessible to youth.
What you can do:
Please talk with your child about the risks of synthetic drugs
Monitor and stay engaged with your child's online and social media activity
Open discussions and let them know that you are a safe person to reach out to, about any concerns
